I am married man and on every small argument my mother keeps pushing me to leave home. I am paying monthly maintenance and rent to her, maintaining and renovating the house, and also taking care of my wife and mother, now with my limited salary I have to pay EMI for a new home if move out,
Do I still have to pay for the maintenance as now 50% of my earnings will go to my new home, as I have already completely renovated an entire floor of my home?

A.Dear client,

Maintenance payments: Maintenance payments are typically determined by the court based on various factors, including the financial capabilities of the parties involved, standard of living, and specific needs of the individuals. If you have been ordered by a court to pay maintenance to your mother, it's important to fulfill your legal obligations unless there are changes made by the court.

Change in financial circumstances: If your financial circumstances have changed, such as incurring additional expenses for a new home, it may be possible to seek a modification of the maintenance order. You can consult with a lawyer and provide evidence of your changed financial situation to support your case for a modification.

Legal recourse: It's advisable to consult with a lawyer to understand the specific laws and regulations related to maintenance payments in your jurisdiction. They can guide you through the process of seeking a modification or provide advice on any other legal options available to you.

Open communication: It may be beneficial to have open and honest communication with your mother about the financial implications of your changed circumstances. Discuss your concerns and explore potential solutions that are fair and considerate to all parties involved.
