Can police allowed to settle case under 420 and 406? Can police allowed to settle case under 420 and 406?

My friend summoned u/s 91/160 crpc after registering FIR U/s 420 and 406. When my friend visited 300km from his residence police station in another state, the investigation officer kept forcing my friend to settle matter with the complainant, who was also sitting in the same room (interrogation room) with us quietly listening to all my friend answering to IO. Then I secretly took a photo of my friend (accused) and the complainant in the same room. Basically IO called the complainant when me and my friend reached the police station.

Q.1 Whether the accused can be forced to settle matter with the complainant in the interrogation room inside while sitting along with complainant in the police station u/s 420 and 406 IPC???

Q.2 When a police officer goes outside, the complainant threatened my friend to kill if money does not return soon. We have a photo of both sitting in the interrogation room, what action we can take?

What action we can take against such police officers ?

A.Dear client,
Asper the principles of natural justice, both the parties to the case have to be given a reasonbable opportunity of bee ng heard. The accused cannot be pressurised into entering into a settlement
