A.Dear client,
The offence of money laundering is punishable under Section 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. It states that anyone found guilty of money laundering faces a three-year prison sentence, which can be increased to seven years, as well as a fine. Sections 48 and 49 of the Act authorise personnel of the Directorate of Enforcement to examine cases of money laundering that are reported to them. If you are experiencing harassment as a result of a lender's toxic behaviour, you may serve a legal notice on the lender and bring the problem to the attention of the Directorate of Enforcement for redress of your grievance.
