Wife is forcing me to leave parents
Married on 7/12/2022. Now my wife who is at her father's house from 2 months is not coming back and forces e to leave my old age parents (age 64 and 68). I also told her to live seperately from parents on 2nd floor but she is not ready. I have a government job. Bride parents willingly gave 8 lakhs of cash(photo and video recording) in lieu of car at the time of marriage. What will happen to my job if they file a dowry case against me for not accepting their wish to leave my parents? Should I file a case under section 9?
A.Dear client,
you can file divorce on the same ground that she is not living in her matrimonial home since two months and living with her parents. She is not willing to continue with her married life.
The Calcutta High Court has ruled that a husband can file for divorce on the grounds of “mental cruelty” - if his wife “tries to forcefully separate him from his parents”.
