A.Dear Client,
The Karnataka High Court has ruled out in 2021 in a writ petition filed by aggrieved children against the order of the Maintenance Tribunalof passed under Sr. Citizens Act, 2007 that the right to appeal under Section 16 (1) of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 is conferred on both sides and it is not limited to Sr.Citizens and Parents only. Citing the said judgment of Karnataka High Court, you can make an appeal against the order of the Maintenance Tribunal under Sec.16 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Sr. Citizens Act, 2007 before the Appellate Authority and District Magistrate.
