I've to join a company and the company is asking me to send Documents in mail for document verification (Which is 3rd round). These documents include all documents related to previous served companies, their salaries, 10th certi, aadhar, pan, photograph, salary slips etc. I want to ask here, is it okay to share original documents in mail for document verification? Can we trust company or HR? Can't it be done offline?

A.Dear Client,

In India, employers may require certain documents for verification purposes, such as your educational certificates, Aadhar card, and PAN card. However, there is no legal requirement for you to share your original documents. You can provide copies of these documents, which should be sufficient for verification. Sharing sensitive personal information through email can pose security risks. It's essential to ensure that the email communication is secure, and you should never share sensitive information through unsecured or public email channels. Research the company's reputation and verify that the request for documents is legitimate. Many companies also accept digital copies

A.Dear Client,
When the Company asks you to send your documents for verification through e-mail, you are sending those documents by email attaching the scanned copies of your documents either in jpg or pdf format. The said documents will be verified with the original documents later on instantly and returned to you once the same is verified. A company cannot keep the Original documents of any candidate once it is verified. However, if the Company asks you to deposit the original documents for verification later on, then don't forget to obtain an official receipt of a list of original documents you submitted for the purpose from the Company and in case the Company refuses to give any receipt in return, then such an action on the part of Company shall be treated as unfair trade practice. So, you should insist the Company for instant verification of original documents with the scanned or Xerox copies of documents and get the return of original documents.
