I am working as locopilot in southern railway, I volunteerly donate my blood in a private blood bank duly informed higher authorities on previous day. Can I avail scl for the day which i donated blood
A.Dear Client
Refer to your organization's leave policy or employee handbook. It should outline the types of leave available, including any provisions for blood donation. Reach out to your Human Resources (HR) department or the designated leave administrator. They can provide information on the leave policies, including whether SCL is granted for blood donation. If you are a member of a union or association for railway employees, consider seeking guidance from them. They may be familiar with the specific policies and practices within the railway sector. Communicate with higher authorities or your immediate supervisors to confirm whether there are provisions for SCL for blood donation and how to avail of such leave.

A.Dear Client,
As per Master Circular No.10(2)(vii), Special casual leave (SCL) is granted to Railway employees to cover their absence from duty, on the occasions like Voluntary Donation of Blood; During the time of SCL, the employee receives 100% pay. Railway servants volunteering to donate blood to Railway Centres may be granted special casual leave to cover the outward and inward journeys and one day's stay at the Centre, in cases in which it is necessary to undertake a journey for going to the Centres.
