We have given our dog to one of our relatives friend as they were ready to adopt it. But we don’t have any document of adoption as they told if he will be comfortable with us then we will keep it. And during this trial period we noticed that they are not capable of taking good care of him and so we didn’t agree of this adoption matter with that person. Now they are not ready to give us and fighting and want us to do legal action to take back dog’s custody. How to sort this matter as we don’t want them to adopt it.

A.Dear Client,
In a situation where you've entrusted your dog to someone during a trial period and now wish to retain custody due to concerns about the care provided, communication is key. Initiate a calm and open dialogue with the person, expressing your apprehensions about the dog's well-being and explaining your decision not to proceed with the adoption. If possible, try to find an amicable solution that prioritizes the dog's welfare.
If the person remains uncooperative and insists on keeping the dog, it may be advisable to consult with a legal professional to explore available options. While there might not be formal adoption documents, any evidence of your ownership, such as veterinary records or photographs, could be useful. Legal advice can guide you on the specific steps to take in your jurisdiction to assert your ownership rights and ensure the dog's return.
Remember to approach the situation with empathy and a focus on the dog's best interests. If necessary, a legal professional can provide clarity on your rights and help you navigate the legal process to seek the return of your beloved pet.
Thankyou
