A.Dear Client,
Once a dispute is resolved and NOC is issued by the Bank informing the closure of the dispute, the same cannot be reopened ex-parte without giving you a notice informing you of the reason behind the reopening of a closed dispute which is contrary to the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) Fair Practice Code and Code of Bank’s Commitment to Customers. So, in the given scenario, a complaint under the RBI integrated Ombudsman scheme, 2021. shall be made online on the portal (https://cms.rbi.org.in) or by sending an email to the Banking Ombudsman at [email protected]. The complaint is to be made to the Ombudsman within one year after the complainant has received the reply from the concerned Bank to the complaint or, where no reply is received, within 30 days from the date of the complaint. Apart from this, to access the information behind the reopening of a closed dispute, you may submit an Application under RTI Act, 2005 seeking desired information from the Bank which is required to be responded to within the prescribed time limit of 45 days from the date of receipt of the application. On receipt of information about the ground behind the reopening of the closed dispute, you may initiate the next course of action to defend the dispute in consultation with a professional expert.

A.Dear Client,
If a previously closed disputed transaction has been reopened in November 2023, it's important to take prompt action to address the matter. Contact your bank immediately and provide them with all relevant details, including the No Objection Certificate (NOC) received earlier. Explain the situation and inquire about the reasons behind the reopening of the case. Additionally, review your records to gather evidence supporting the resolution and closure of the dispute. If needed, seek legal advice to understand your rights and options in dealing with this situation. Timely communication with the bank and a clear presentation of the previously resolved status can be crucial in resolving the matter efficiently.
Thankyou
