In my all documents I have surname with one extra letter but in my father documents he uses the surname without one extra letter will it cause a problem for me in future
A.Dear Client,
To resolve the issue related to the correction of the anomaly in the spelling of the surname of both you and your father, you need to pursue the following steps. 1) An affidavit is a legal document that is used to state facts under oath. The affidavit should include the applicant's current name/surname, the desired name/surname, the reason for the change of surname, and any other relevant details declaring that the "A s/o B " and the "A s/o C" are the same and one identical person. The affidavit should be made on a stamp paper of the appropriate value as per the state where the applicant resides and should be sworn preferably before the 1st class Judicial Magistrate or Executive Magistrate. 2) The next step in the name/surname change process is to publish a notification in the Gazette of India. The Gazette of India is a publication of the Government of India that contains official government notifications, including name/surname change notifications. The notification should be in the prescribed format and published in at least two local newspapers. 3) After publishing the notification in the Gazette of India, the next step is to make out a name/surname change deed. The said deed is a legal document that confirms the name/surname change and includes the details of the old and new name/surname. The deed should be made on a stamp paper of the appropriate value as per the state where the applicant resides and should be signed by two witnesses and notarized by a Notary Public. 5) The final step is to submit the name/surname change deed to the relevant authorities for information and records. The applicant may also need to provide additional documents, such as a copy of the Gazette notification and a copy of the affidavit for updating the records wherever and whenever required. It is essential to follow the correct procedure to ensure that the name/surname change is recognized by the concerned Authority.

A.Dear Client,
Having a slight variation in the surname, such as an extra letter, between your documents and your father's documents could potentially lead to discrepancies in official records. While it may not pose an immediate issue in many situations, it's advisable to address and rectify this difference to avoid potential complications in the future. To correct the surname inconsistency, you can consider taking the following steps:
1.Affidavit:Consult with a legal professional to create an affidavit explaining the difference in spelling and affirming that both versions refer to the same individual. This document should be notarized.
2.Update Official Documents: After completing the legal procedures, update your official documents, including your passport, driver's license, and any other relevant identification documents.
3.Communication with Authorities:Inform authorities, such as government offices, banks, and educational institutions, about the correction to ensure that their records reflect the accurate surname. By taking these steps, you can align your surname across documents, reducing the likelihood of encountering issues related to the variation in the future. It's recommended to seek guidance from a legal professional familiar with the procedures in your jurisdiction for specific and accurate advice tailored to your situation.
Thankyou
