False alligation of theft

I joined a company worked there for 2 days and left the job as it was not confirmed that its a target based salary job so i left the organisation but lqter after 3 days the company HR called and said i have stolen there laptop and asked to return it but i informed laptop is not with me they emailed me about the same but i was unaware about the laptop later after 2 days they filed a complaint in police station that tgey have the video evidence of me steeling the laptop so police called me and when i went they were unable to provide any clear evedence and police released me but after few days laptop was found from some other employee so can i file a defamation case against this

Yes but you have to spend lot of money and time. Courts are not interested to give you compensation or impose sentence on him. For litigation sake you may file a civil and criminal defamation case.
