Help with verbally and emotionally abusive mother

I'm a 21 year old girl living with my parents. My mother is highly abusive towards me and my father. She constantly screams, threatens hurting herself if we call anyone for help. She throws and breaks things Nd screams for hours on end. I do not want any punitive action towards her but I'm extremely scared and fed up and require intervention from someone so she can get help for her mental distress. She refuses to go to a hospital and starts abusing again.

As you are an adult, you have the option of moving out for the time being. Speak to your other family members. Report the same with the local police station. Also inform the social welfare groups. If your mother is unstable mentally, , you can take the help of other family members and put her in a rehab. Your mother do not have the right to torture you this way, it is an offence in the eyes of the law.
