A.Dear Client,
If you, as a senior citizen, are facing harassment from your adult child who is interfering with your decision to give your flat on rent, you can consider seeking protection under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. This Act is designed to ensure the well-being of senior citizens.

Under Section 23 of the Act, if a senior citizen's children neglect or refuse to take care of their needs or harass them, the senior citizen can apply to the Maintenance Tribunal for relief. You may approach the Tribunal in your area, providing details of the harassment and interference you are facing. The Tribunal has the authority to pass orders for maintenance, protection, and eviction if necessary.

Additionally, if your adult child's actions amount to criminal intimidation or any other offense, relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), such as Section 506 (criminal intimidation), may be applicable. It is advisable to consult with a legal professional who can guide you through the process of filing a complaint under the Senior Citizens Act and, if necessary, under relevant sections of the IPC.
Thankyou
