A.Dear Client,

Leave policies or rules vary based on the applicable Act for a specific establishment. According to the Factories Act, 1948, workers are entitled to one day of earned or privilege leave for every twenty days of work in the previous calendar year. Casual leave (CL) ranges from 5-7 days, and sick leave varies from 5 to 15 days, depending on state legislation.

For employees in private companies, the leave policy includes 30 days of earned leave after 12 months of continuous employment, 14 days of casual leave (CL) per year, and 5 to 15 days of sick leave annually.

Under the Karnataka Shops & Establishment Act, 1961, employees are entitled to one day of earned leave for every twenty days of work, and sick leave is granted at a rate of 1 day per 30 days of work. An amendment to Section 15 allows employees to carry forward 45 days of annual leave to the following year. These leave provisions, excluding three national holidays, are applicable to all employees nationwide.
