I have few month overlapping in my previous Organization .
Although i was not productive in previous company.
HR told me that they cant release immidiataly hence they keep me active in system as per their convenience .
meanwhile i started working with other company.
Now facing issue in BGV in new company

A.Dear Client,

Discrepancies in EPF records regarding overlapping service between previous and current establishments can lead to future disputes. In the case of contradictory joining and exit dates in both Company A and Company B, PF records may indicate dual employment until the anomalies are rectified by the respective employers. To address such issues, a joint declaration form is utilized for correcting Provident Fund (PF) member details. The joint declaration form should include details such as the date of submission, regional PF commissioner's address, employee and company names, correct particulars that need correction, wrong particulars that were inaccurately entered, and signatures of the applicant and authorized signatory for the establishment. The form, along with self-attested identity proof documents, is submitted to the regional EPFO office where the establishments are registered.

Accepted self-attested documents for correction claims include PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, Driving License, and Aadhar Card. In case of any mismatch between EPFO and EPF member records, individuals can file a complaint through the EPF i-Grievance Management System (https://epfigms.gov.in/), providing documentary evidence of the discrepancy.

Employees cannot update their service history; only employers can rectify errors in the EPFO employment record. Therefore, if an employee identifies an error, they should contact their present or previous employers for correction. Additionally, the verification of EPFO records through UAN is crucial for background checks during the hiring process. Employers can confirm the accuracy of employee information to prevent false identities from being used for employment. To resolve overlapping PF record issues, individuals should approach the Regional PF Commissioner's office, the competent authority for addressing anomalies in appointment and discharge dates in EPF records.

A.Dear Client,
The overlapping in service in respect of previous and present establishment and any anomaly or discrepancy in EPF records in respect of a fund of any registered member is a ground for future dispute. When your EPF record shows an anomaly in the joining and exit date in both the A & B Company which is contradictory, then until and unless those anomalies are rectified by the concerned employers, PF records will show dual employment. A joint declaration form is used to correct Provident Fund (PF) member details. It is a combined form that the employee and employer sign and submit to the regional PF commissioner to update the wrong information entered in the employees’ PF accounts. An EPF member should fill out the joint declaration form to correct details like father’s name, joining date, Exit date etc., as these details will be verified against the Aadhaar. The EPF members or employees should physically submit the joint declaration form to the regional PF office with which the company or establishment is registered. The employees should enter the following details on the joint declaration form EPF: Date of form submission, Regional PF commissioner address, Name and company name, Correct particulars, i.e., particulars that need to be corrected or updated in the PF member account, Wrong particulars, i.e., particulars that have been wrongly entered in the PF member account, Signature of the applicant, name of the authorized signatory for the establishment and signature of establishment with its seal. After filling in the above details on the form, the employees should attach self-attested identity proof documents to support the correction claim and submit the form to the regional EPFO office where the establishments are registered. The PF office accepts the following self-attested documents to make the changes in the PF member account details like PAN Card Voters I /Card, Passport, Driving License, Aadhar Card. If there is any mismatch between the EPFO and EPF member records, then an individual can file a complaint using the EPF i-Grievance Management System (www. https://epfigms.gov.in/). An individual is required to provide documentary evidence of where the mismatch is occurring. Documentary evidence can include salary slips showing EPF contribution, EPF statements shared by the employer, etc. An employee cannot update the service history. Only an employer can rectify the error in the employment record of the EPFO. So if an employee finds an error in the database, he should contact their present or previous employers and get it corrected. Further, Background verification(BGV) check is a process many organizations carry out to verify the information provided by the candidate during hiring. Verification of EPFO records through UAN is critical for conducting employee background checks because it allows employers to confirm that their employees are not using false or stolen identities to gain employment. In case of a negative background verification check an employer can even reject/terminate the employment of the candidate. In the given situation, to resolve the issue of overlapping in the P F records of both employers, you need to approach the office of the Regional P F Commissioner who is the competent authority to resolve any anomaly arising out of the date of appointment and date of discharge in EPF records
