A 19-year-old friend in Gujarat, where her father is an advocate, is being continuously tortured and forced into engagement against her will by her parents. They're even threatening to stop her education. She's thinking of moving to Delhi to get away from her dad's connections. How can she keep safe and stop her parents from further harassing her ? She doesn't want to file a case against them. She just wants them not to trouble her anymore.

A.Dear Client,
To resolve the crisis, running away is not the solution, instead, it may worsen the crisis more than present. When your friend is experiencing such type a continuous threat to her safety and security including mental and physical harassment from her parents in-house, she can get in touch with a social worker or NGO who renders dedicated service to help her out from the crisis. Alternatively, she can make a complaint online (https://nhrc.nic.in/complaints/complaints/how-to-file-a-complaints) to the Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission and Chairperson, National or State Women Commission through online complaint or by sending an email to [email protected]. Both the commissions take suo moto action to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens in distress referring the matter immediately to the concerned District Administration, like, DM/SDM, SP/DSP for necessary action into the complaint.
