Section 71 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, provides the District Commission, State Commission, and National Commission the power to enforce their orders in the same way as a court decree in accordance with the provisions of Order XXI of the First Schedule to the CPC, applicable as far as possible. If an order from the Commission is not followed, the complainant can file an execution petition and the opposite party may be liable for prosecution under Section 72 of the Act, which can result in imprisonment for one month to three years, or a fine of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 1,00,000, or both. If required, you can consult an advocate for advice and assistance in the matter.
