Divorced seeking claim on joint bank account after ex death Divorced seeking claim on joint bank account after ex death

My sister was divorced in 2006. She has a joint savings account and bank locker with her husband in a nationalized bank when she was married. At the time of divorce we mutually agreed for no alimony and compensation from him as he was troubling us we sacrificed our dowry and gold to him and got divorced for my sister. Recently her ex husband died. Now can my sister claim that joint savings account and bank locker? If so what is the procedure for that. Kindly mention the details please.

A.The account with the Bank is a contract, her divorce is not Bank`s concern. If it an either or survivor account or former of survivor account she gets all. Whats written in the nomination form is important for the claim with Bank. But his successors can still make a claim, then Bank will ask her to get a Court Order.
