Compensation for mental agony

As part of my current project at my employer, I was asked to travel internationally.
Travel team at work informed that I need to apply for visa on arrival and that after I get an invite letter from client with , I can apply for visa after landing.
On the day of travel, client team informed not to travel as they have not submitted my visa application and I travel with risk of being deported/sent back.
My project team at office confirmed that I am safe to travel and asked me to go ahead with planned travel.
After landing in international country, I was refused entry and sent back, also passport is now flagged.
This has caused a lot of mental agony
