MUSINGS OF A JUDGE

Here's a sketchy account of my life as a judge which I feel verily competent to mention,

Like any other judge I also worked hard without fear or favour with utmost passion & devotion,

However, this being a noble profession I assiduously always performed with zeal of a mission,

Yet, I had my share of myriad patchy occasions that switched my mental peace with lot of tension,

Though lawyers & judges happen to be twin equal partners in nurturing & fostering this profession,

Their endeavours & efforts are seldom rewarded in terms of money in equal or matching proportion,

While sky is the limit for a lawyer to earn name & fame based on his empirical knowledge& erudition,

A judge being a salaried official barely finds such a vast scope to reach acme to meet his satisfaction,

One has to often countenance a situation where merit is given a short shrift in matters of due promotion,

And deserving , and competent persons often deliberately harassed for no ostensible cause or reason,

But I can nevertheless proudly say that despite all these pit falls & oddities of this learned profession,

I always immensely benefited from the members of the Bar consisting of men of great scholarship & erudition,

To sum up the whole judicial journey in a few words it may be said to be a saga of many trials& tribulations,

Having played my innings when I called it a day a few years back, it was a good riddance from such tension.
