Resignation and notice period

If a employee resigning due to medical problems, can the employee refuse to work on notice period? And also can resign smoothly from company?

A.What is your establishment-govt company/PSU/Industrial Establishment/ commercial establishment? ???? Before doing anything you consult an able counsel specializing in labor/service matters before resigning.

A.It is a good ground for resignation on serious medical ground.U can resign smoothly but never hope for salary.U may not be reappointed in private concern.It will be the will of the company to keep you in job or may refuse u job
