Domestic Violence Domestic Violence

I am a male son who has been through mental torture by my father. My mother has often been physically abused in the past as well, but she has never told anyone due to her family values. Also, she wouldn't let me tell anyone. It has crossed the point now, where he feels he an do anything. Smashing the door, and loud verbal replies whenever he feels infuriated is becoming a common thing. Also my mother is a heart patient. The previous maid in the house is a witness to all this.
Please let me know if any law is there against this.

A.If you are aged more than 18 years then you can stay away from house and also file complaint or civil suit or issue newspaper ad saying you have not connection with your parents. Discuss. Please give me Rank 5 if you feel my answer helped you.

A.In India, unfortunately there is no direct law dealing with the issue of Domestic Violence against children. But, there are NGOs working in the field of DV whose targeted section is both women & children.

If you are grown up enough to approach any organization for help by yourself or with help of someone, kindly do so. Also, tell your mother about the same and convince her to take a stand for you more than her.

And if none of the above works out and situation demands, call the local police and inform.
