I was commissioned as Army officer in 2002. Immediately, I was compulsorily made to subscribe life insurance from Army Group Insurance (AGIF) which is registered under Societies Act. Monthly subscription deducted till my retirement in 2016. After retirement I was given matured amount.
I was released from Army due to medical disability with 20 percent and above disability. Now, AGIF has Disability Benefit Scheme of Rs 5 lakh for 20 percent disability but only for officers whose service has been terminated on medical grounds. Those who are allowed to continue till completion of service terms and condition are not granted this benefit inspire of 20 percent and more medical disability.
Is this not discriminatory inspire of paying subscription ? Will my case convince a judge of District forum?
