Landlord not returning deposit amount Landlord not returning deposit amount

We gave our 1-month notice to vacate flat on 30th June. The flat was vacated mid-July and the keys were handed over. The owner never responds to any calls or messages. We managed to talk to him just once and he just screamed the whole time. The owner's son promised that deposit amount will be returned before 15th August. We have still not received anything. I have the call recordings and all the messages I have sent them. And the screenshots of how many times I have called them. What are our options now? How can we get the deposit amount back? Not adhering to the agreement and not returning the deposit amount should amount to some form of cheating, is it not?

The flat is in Bangalore (deposit amount is also very high)
