A.Hi,
In West Bengal, for purchasing any property stamp duty is 6% and 1% for registration cost. Other office expenses depend upon place to place.

A.Stamp duty is generally 5-7% of the property's market value. The registration fee is 1% of the property's market value.
The amount you have to pay as stamp duty depends on various factors. These are:
• Property's Market Value
• Property type, with number of floors
• Purpose of use of the property - Residential or Commercial
• Property Location
• Age and gender of property owner.

A.Every State has separate rules regarding levy of stamp duty. It is neat about 3 to 6 percent of the market valye of property in most of the cases.
Better to visit nearest office of district registrar to get know the exsct market value and applicable stamp duty.
