I had filed a case in consumer forum regarding undue delay in construction of apartment by builder, and in the previous hearing, the date was given for 'orders'. But on the next date, my lawyer was told that the judge needed more time (about a month) to calculate the amount of damages to be paid. Is it normal with consumer forum? My original sale agreement is deposited with the forum. How and when can I get it back?
A.The Consumer forum has its own rules & regulation of functioning. You have to await the order of the Member.All original documents are in safe custody verify from the staff in consumer forum office.

It is better to allow the judge to take his own time to pronounce the judgment. File a memo through your advocate to keep original sale deed in safe custody of Consumer Court.

Thank you. Bcos I was given a date for final order,vand on that date when I was told it will take another month approximately, I became apprehensive. If thats the normal practice, no problem waiting.

A.After passing of final order,u apply for return of your all original documents,then you will get it back

A.yes it is normal and moreover until the case is concluded you cannot get back the original document. hope you have a xerox copy of it.
