Can a private company out an employee salary on hold whenever they want? Can a private company out an employee salary on hold whenever they want?

Hi,

I am working in a private company which is located in Hyderabad. However, due to the pandemic, I was working from home. My employer asked me to resume work from office to which I agreed but asked for an extension in work from home due to some personal reason. My employer agreed to it but put my salary on hold without giving any prior notification. I was called by my HR around 14-15 hours ago of salary processing time and said that they would be putting my salary on hold since I failed to resume work from office even though my request to extend work from home was approved. Now my employer is saying that it was decision taken by higher management and nothing can be done. My salary would only be released after I resume work from office.

I would like to ask that is this even legal? Can a private company do whatever they decide?

A.Dear client,
If you had got permission to resume work from home by any E-mail or written then it may be contested legally, but generally this does not happen.
However, if they are saying to resume to office then better to do so, and even then they do not release ur salary then you may take action against such company.
You must have proof of that u have resumed on job at office.
Thanks.
