person who issued the cheque asked me to wait for a month and two he would settle on gentlemen's agreement. now cheque is over 3 months from the date issued and person is not responding and dodging my calls. i have sent multiple messages and called n number of time please advice the next steps

A.Hi,
File a complaint with the police, the file a civil money recovery suit against him to recover your losses.

A.Hi,
File a complaint with the police for cheating and fraud under Sections 415 and 420 IPC. In addition, you can file a civil suit for money recovery against him and a cheque bounce case under S.127 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
