Eligibility of family pension
My mother in law was a primary school teacher in under West Bengal Government She died in 2015 leaving behind her husband, elder daughter (my wife) and an unmarried younger daughter (now about 40 years old). Now my father in law is getting the family pension. Will his younger daughter continue to get family pension after his death?

A.Hi,
No, your sister-in-law is not eligible for family pension as she is above 25 years of age. Family pension is only given until the child attains the age of 25 years and not after that. Thank You

A.Hi,
No, she wouldn't be eligible for getting a family pension after her father's death because she is 40 years old. The children are only eligible to get the family pension until they attain the age of 25 or until they get married or they start earning their own livelihood (whichever comes earliest). Therefore, your sister-in-law wouldn't be eligible for the family pension. Thank You
