Forced leave during Covid lockdown
Hi, my organisation has sent people on forced leave during the lockdown, however we are expected to work from home.
Now after a month and half when we have exhausted all our Paid leaves and public holidays for the year, they are proposing loss of pay since the lockdown is not yet lifted. All though we are willing to resume work, they do not want us in office to manage the labour expenses but want us to continue working.
Is this legally possible for the organisation to do?
A.Dear Sir,
You may approach office of Labor Commissioner under section 12 of ID Act.

A.Hi,
You can explore other options by try searching for some other job. The corporations are in a difficult position right now too. However, if you feel like you are settling for less then you can go ahead and change your employment.

A.Hi,
The companies themselves are in a fix because of the pandemic and are trying to stay afloat with whatever bare minimum. It is upon you to leave and explore other options or continue where you are with a stable income.

A.Pandemic is unprecedented situation and no one had experienced this earlier and many companies are facing questions of sustenance now. Giving the condition where a company is finding it difficult to survive due to market condition they many not be able to keep the employment of all the employee. In such situation even if the employees take legal action I am not sure that courts will take any strong action against the ailing companies which themselves are finding it tough to survive for no business since last one year.
