Employment and salary cut

I am working in a University and there is huge salary cut due to COVID. I don't want to continue with less salary. Am I liable to serve notice period?

A.Covid situation has brought lot of unprecedented changes to the employment industry and thus both employer and employees are not able to honour the terms of the employment. If they are paying you the salary, whatever amount, they you need to serve the notice period, if not then you can intimate them and resign without serving the notice period.

Send them your resignation letter anyday to quit your job. Also send them a notice explaining your reason to quit and increase your salary if they don't want you to quit.

A.Yes, but in your resignation letter mention the aboresaid reason about salary cut so that if you are valuable for your work they must have to increase your wages accordingly.
