How are stamp duty and registration costs computed in India? Stamp duty is generally 5-7 percent of the market value of the property. Typically, the registration cost is 1% of the property's market value. As a result, these charges may potentially amount to millions of rupees. When there is a violation of contract, the arbitration clause is enforced, and the indemnity clause is enforced.
