My Brother in Law is Harassing my wife

My Brother in law is harassing my wife. As my mother in law had paid some payment to my wife as gift. Now he is sending abusing what's app message to my wife to return the money. He is even forcing mother in law to keep distance from my wife and ask for money . It would be around 3lacs.

Your wife can file a police complaint against your brother-in-law under section 509 of IPC. Whoever, intending to insult the modesty of any woman, utters any words, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object, intending that such word or sound shall be heard, or that such gesture or object shall be seen, by such woman, or intrudes upon the privacy of such woman, shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, and also with fine.
