If my grandfather and father started a business with equal partnership, after grandfather's demise, is my dad's brother eligible for 50% of the entire business or 50% of my grandfather's part in business?

A.Dear client,
When a person dies, their shares are equally divided amongst the family members unless mentioned otherwise in a will. Here, the grandfather's share (50%) will then be divided equally amongst both your father and your uncle. So, your father will have 75% of the total business and your uncle will have 25%.
Thank you.

A.Dear Client
Based on your information provided your uncle will be eligible for 50% of the what your grandfather owned and not 50% of the total business. That means your father will be owning his 50% plus the 25% of his father along with your uncle.
