Changing sections in FIR
Hello, police have registered FIR , but later they are saying they added wrong section (typing error), is it possible for them to change section before chargsheet.
A.Dear Sir,
Yes, before filing charge sheet they can change sections on various grounds and usually they will seek permission or inform the concerned Magistrate above such changes.

A.Dear Client,
You need not worry. The section number can be changed by the police. Moreover, as per Section 216 CrPC empowers the court to alter or add charges before giving the judgement.
Thank you

A.Dear Client
A police can change the Sections depending on the investigation and before preparing the chargesheet. Not only that the Sections can be modified or added by the court after the chargesheet has been filed in the court by the police.
