My sister in law filed an FIR against my brother and other family members U/S IPC 498(a) & 406 with false claims o498af attempt to kill, dowry etc. The FIR is 10 days old. Is it possible to add any other sections in this FIR?

A.Dear Client,

The FIR, as it is filed in the beginning, is final and it cannot be amended later. But, the names of new accused persons, if found during investigation, can be added as accused persons by police during its investigation by making a mention thereof in the case diary of that case.

A.Dear Sir,
Yes, at the time of filing charge sheet more sections may be added and they may delete or add accused persons. You may challenge and get stay in the High Court on such false FIR.
