father's name different in SSC and Voter ID for new passport application father's name different in SSC and Voter ID for new passport application

Hello sir, my father's name is printed in abbreviated form in my SSC certificate and my aadhaar and voter id have his full name (same as in my father's aadhar and voter id). The passport office people asked me how can they be sure that both names are of the same person. I can't correct the SSC because it is 10+ years now. Please advise me. Thanks.

In a situation where there is a variation in the name of an individual across different documents, you can take steps to ensure that your passport application is not rejected due to this discrepancy. Here's what you can do:

Affidavit: You can create an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper attesting to the fact that the person mentioned in all these documents is the same. In the affidavit, you should explain the reason for the difference in names, like the use of an abbreviation on your SSC certificate.

A.Dear Sir,
You may file an Affidavit either notarized before the public notary or Magistrate and thus you may satisfy the passport authorities.

A.Dear client,

Incase you have any other document containing your father's full name, it shouldn't be a problem. It also depends upon the passport officer.
But it is advisable to get an affidavit stating that both the abbreviated form as well as the full name are the names of the same person i.e. your father and the correctly acceptable name should be the full name.

A.Dear Client
you can get one first class judicial magistrate affidavit done declaring that both the names are same and belong to one person that is your father. The authorities should accept the affidavit and do the needful.
