Lost Mobile Phone Report

I am ordered a smartphone in online using another name and then I give the Smartphone other person without using it. After 6 months he lost this smartphone. If he didn't report it on Police station is it affect me? What should I do?

it might create a problem, but mostly the problem arises when the sim in that phone is on your name. as you said you bought with other name and gave it to other person without using it, ask him to report to the police. it helps both of you in future if any problem is created.
