An EdTech company scammed me & a lot of students
1 year ago
An EdTech company has a very tightly bound agreement that all their students have to sign. While I was signing the agreement, I did not think about how the agreement will pan out in the future. I had very bad service. I do not have enough proof to claim that because my grievances to them mostly happened over calls. Their course structure is divided into 2 parts: Learning Phase & Placement Phase. Learning Phase was bad but the Placement Phase was a total scam. Now after the course is completed, I have to pay them the full fees of INR 3,33,500. I did not get a job through them but on my own. Yet since I signed the agreement, according to a clause I have to pay them regardless of me getting a job on my own & not from them. I want to take legal action but their agreement is so tightly bound, that I know for a fact that I can't do anything. I and several other students are stuck in this. We are not against the company but the service that they provide which is utter nonsense yet we are bound to pay them money. I don't know what to do.
the said institution collecting huge fees as such it owes some responsibility towards students . you can get issue a legal notice then approach consumer court for refund and compensation for insufficient service .

You should get in touch with a lawyer with a copy of the agreement and all the grievances that you have against the Edtech company. There might be good consumer case against them which can be filed in a consumer forum.
