Neighbour harassment - I have a one year old Labrador Neighbour harassment - I have a one year old Labrador

I have a one year old Labrador. We usually walk him twice a day; once in the morning and once in the evening. Recently a family living below us(1st floor; we live on the second floor) started creating problems out of nowhere.

Now the problem is that once in a day my dog urinates in the balcony and because of this we need to wash it. The water from balcony directly falls onto the ground which is 12 feet away from any staircase or parking space. We've been doing this since past 1 year and there are other families with pets who follow the same and till now there were no issues.

But this family has started threatening us to send legal notice and also called the cops on us once. They also said that our regions TI was close to them and they helped him get his job so don't even think about going to them. Police is also of no help as they won't listen or even help us to understand what can be done.

What are my options here? Are we at fault? Genuinely asking as my parents are suffering because of this and i live in a different state.

A.Dear client,

Please be assured that you are not at fault. The neighbors cannot really file any complaint other than littering, which is a petty offence. If you clean up the water which you have drained from your balcony there will be no cause of action. You can file a complaint against them for harassment.
