Is Zamindari still applicable in old abadi land in municipal limits? Is Zamindari still applicable in old abadi land in municipal limits?

My great grandfather bought a house from a person whose house was registered in qurra municipality abadi in 1917. We have registry papers. We sold the house in two parts with registry in 2010 and 2016. A person in the year 2019 mutated his name in khewat concerning the plot no. under the house. He claims that he is descendent of old zamindar and it's non za land "in the heart of the city" in municipal limits. He lodged an FIR against us. We applied petition for quashing but it was dismissed saying that the Final report is submitted. But FR is still not in court and police is still carrying investigation. Any remedy as such civil natured disputes are being misrepresented with a criminal twist using such FIRs and it's causing great trouble.

A.Dear Sir,
It seems it is not pertaining to Karnataka State. There are separate rules and circulars regarding Zamindari lands so you may contact local advocate to get effective legal advise.

A.Hi client,
Zamindari system is abolished in India post independence. If you have, proper registered deeds in your favour, then you do not need to worry. For mutation that the person has done, kindly visit the Mutation office, make an application for mutating the same in the name of the current owner.
Miscommunication might have happened and thus wrongly it has been mutated in the name of that person, as many owners do not go for mutation after buying a property, the department stays unaware of such changes. Kindly visit the office.
You too can file a case against them in your local police station. You can also contact an advocate and go for filing cases against them.
Thanks and Regards
Simi Paul

A.You should approach an advocate from Allahabad High Court and consult with him for the best possible remedy for your problem. You need to have all the relevant documents supporting your statement. Then it will be easy and convenient for the advocate to deal your matter smoothly. Moreover Zamindari System has been abolished in India many years ago.
