QUESTION "ABOUT ASKING FITRA, ZAKAAT QAIRAAT" "AS PER MUSLIM RELIGION, TAKING ZAKAAT, FITRA AND SADQA, QAIRAAT IS GOOD AND LEGAL. IF I STAND OUTSIDE MOSQUE, AND ASK "ZAKAAT, FITRA AND SADQA, QAIRAAT" TO MUSLIM PEOPLE, AS I AM JOBLESS. THEN THIS TYPE OF WORK IS LEGAL OR ILLEGAL ACCORDING TO INDIAN LAW. IF ILLEGAL THEN WHAT PUNISHMENT OR FINE, PLEASE TELL IN DETAIL."

It is not illegal, it is rule that every adult Muslim who possesses food in excess of their needs must pay zakat al-Fitr (fitrana).
