In Murray & Co. v/s. Ashok Kr. Newatia, SC has opined that making a false Affidavit in Court is Contempt of Court. Does
1. Making a false Application in Court or
2. Filing a false Pursis in Court also becomes Contempt of Court

A.Making a false application in court will amount to contempt. Also, false pursis will amount to contempt.

Your answer depends on certain inputs like given below;
If you file a false application claiming a dipsute as you understand that there is a dispute then it should not be a contempt because you yourself are not aware about the factum and veracity of the facts which gave rise to dispute.
Deliberately and knowingly filing a false application depe ding on the degree of falsify may attract rebuke, cost or contempt.

Filing a false purses can attract Section 191 to 193 of IPC leading to perjury. Contempt is something which the cpurt suo motu will decide or not.
