Our Apartment Association is not registered for almost 12 yrs. Inspite of asking for it the Association secretary seems to drag his feet on the requirement. The Association Secretary also unilaterally takes decisions and asks members to accept it. Maintenance/Other commercial decisions are taken without any meetings being conducted. In this scenario should I stop paying maintenance? There should be a recourse for me to stand up to an autocrat.
Payment of maintenance is an essential part of land laws. On failure of the same, you can be asked to vacate the house, so it’s advisable to not take this step. However, you can file a suit with the other members as witnesses against the said authority for the same.

But payment of maintenance has to be to a registered authority? I am taking about apartment complex where I am paying the applicable property tax to the government however the maintenance charges levied by the apartment association is something I am challenging. The apartment association is unregistered. I am paying maintenance however my greivances are not being addressed. So in that case which land law can ask me to vacate my apartment?
