Rental issues - house key return Rental issues - house key return

Thank you for your replies to my every question. I’d greatly appreciate if you can answer this one question I have. Actually the supervisor has been asking me for the house keys but both he and the owner are not showing any intention of returning my security deposit money. There’s NO rental agreement between us and I cancelled the house one week after transferring the security deposit due to their rude behaviour and I didn’t even move into the house. Can I still keep the keys with me or else should I return it. I’m just worried that if I return the keys they won’t answer my calls anymore. If I keep them with me until I receive my security deposit can they charge penalty of some kind like charging one months rent or something. Any reply would be greatly appreciated

A.Hello,
As per the infromation you have mentioned you need not to worry they cannot charge any kind of amount upon you , and if he is not returning your money you can do either or both of the following :
1- Send a legal notice to the owner asking for the return of the security deposit.
2- If the owner still does not return the security deposit, file a case in the civil court for the recovery of the security deposit.
