Very unprofessional attitude of polica against senior lady approaching 90 years
10 months ago
There was a fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 30,000/- from my pension account with Canara Bank , here in NIT , Faridabad . The bank branch asked for a FIR first and only after receipt of the same they would intiate recovery process , they said . We immediately approached the concerned Police Station at Sector 5 , NIT , FARIDABAD . We tried our level best to reason with them for getting the FIR , for more than 4 hours . But we were treated very rudely and nobody at the station was at all ready to either listen or resolve our problem . In between we made a round of the Bank to seek their cooperation . The cctv cameras at both the places will confirm my this statement . As we had no other alternative , we returned from the police station . I am told the FIR needs to be filed within 24 hours or otherwise validity of the same lapses . I am at a loss as to how I can recover the amount withdrawn fraudulently . How and where can I make complaint against this very unprofessional attitude of the police department ?
While I sympathize with the plight you have to face at this age to resolve a crisis caused by default. It may be noted that when a fraudulent transaction of money is held or come to notice, a written complaint is required to be made to the concerned Bank, endorsing a copy of the same to the Cyber Cell of Police and the local Police Station. In case the Local Police Station denied to lodge your complaint, you should immediately post the matter to the DSP/ASP concerned with recorded delivery failing which you have to seek an order from the Court directing the PS to lodge the FIR through a hectic process. In this context, It is further to inform you that the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched an ELDER HELPLINE (NO,14567) exclusively for the Sr. Citizens for resolving all sorts of crises concerning health to wealth. You should take an opportunity of the benevolent service of the Govt. You may represent the complaint before the Higher Authority of the concerned Bank and the online Grievance Portal of RBI. However, In case you need any assistance in this regard, you may contact our legal team for the purpose with relevant papers.
