Suspicious mail

Good Morning, Few days ago my friend have received a mail from my mail which was accessed without my knowledge(i.e hacked) and put some matter regarding my personal to my friend. So can i locate the sender location by using email IP address? Please let me know in detail. If i file a case against this what would be the result? am I able to trace the location with IP address or not?

A.dear client in your case Kindly take the help of the police personnel's in Cyber Cell of the jurisdictional police station. Please visit them and make an official complaint.

A.Sir,
First you get the senders location by using IP address and then file a complaint before the police station.

A.If you file an FIR to local police they will refer this matter to the cyber cell and then the criminal investigation will start. The IP address can be traced and of there is any malafide intention then the person(s) behind it will be booked under the law.
