Name Change - small spelling change in my name
10 months ago
I would like to make a small spelling change in my name. I need to get it changed in my passport. For this, I need to start from my school certificate. But, I dont have a document to submit as a proof of correct spelling of my name. How can I change my name in my school certificate and passport. Please advice how can I start.
A.Dear Client,
In the absence of any supporting documents to correct the spelling mistake in your name, you need to start with your Birth Certificate issued under the Registration of Births and Deaths, Act 1969, and on obtaining the correction of name in your Birth Certificate you can apply for correction in School and respective Education Board certificate and thereafter you can be able to seek for amendment/correction of name in all the statutory records like Aadhar Card, EPIC, PAN including correction in Passport that also requires supporting documents. Although it is a very difficult task but not impossible if you put your sincere efforts to correct your name in your passport or other documents.
