A.Dear client,

File an Application: You can file a formal application at the police station where the case has been registered, requesting a copy of the FIR or petition filed against you. This application is often called an "RTI" (Right to Information) application, depending on the country's laws. You may need to pay a nominal fee for obtaining the copy.

Criminal Defense Lawyer: Consider hiring a criminal defense lawyer who can represent you in the case. Your lawyer can officially request a copy of the FIR on your behalf and ensure that your rights are protected throughout the legal process.

Contact the Investigating Officer: You can try contacting the investigating officer handling the case and request a copy of the FIR. However, if you are facing resistance or difficulties, involving a lawyer can be beneficial.

Approach the Magistrate or Court: If the police station is not cooperative in providing the copy of the FIR, you can approach the local magistrate or the court that has jurisdiction over the case. The court can order the police to furnish the copy of the FIR to you.

Complain to Higher Authorities: If you encounter further difficulties in obtaining the FIR, you can escalate the matter by complaining to higher authorities within the police department or relevant oversight bodies.

Know Your Rights: Familiarize yourself with your rights as an accused person. Depending on the laws of your country, you have the right to access information related to the case against you.
