TDS on employee contribution to PF above Rs. 2.5 Lacs TDS on employee contribution to PF above Rs. 2.5 Lacs

I had accumulated about Rs. 7.5 lacs of employee contribution in my PF account over a period of 8 years in my old company. I recently changed companies and transferred this amount in July 2021 to the new PF account. My new employer has put Rs. 5 lacs of the total in the taxable bracket and deducted TDS on that. I am assuming the tax is applicable only if there was more than Rs. 2.5 lacs that was contributed by the employee in any financial year. Can you please confirm? How should I get back the TDS amount that was already deducted.
